Rechargeable hearing aid options

Choosing a rechargeable option makes good sense for many hearing aid users. Changing small batteries associated with hearing aids can be challenging and inconvenient.

With rechargeable battery-powered aids, it is a helpful to wipe the aids off regularly with a soft cloth as well as to wipe the charging bays in the charger using something like a cotton swab. Most hearing aids will have about 4 hours use from 30 minutes of charging, and most are fully charged for a regular day's use after 3-4 hours of charging.

Some chargers like the one pictured hold extra power for charging without plugging into an outlet. If a charger only charges while it is plugged in, a user can also use a backup battery pack like one used for cellular phones when not near an outlet. When power surges occur, it can be helpful to unplug the charger and plug it back in again; there is a reset button on the bottom of certain chargers as well.
